| As the seasons change, the communities of Greenstone adapt with eagerness to jump in to the new season's activities. The abundant snow falls and community recreation centres lend themselves to endless indoor and outdoor winter fun. The Longlac Cross-Country Ski Club is located in the community of Longlac, and the community of Geraldton also maintains cross-country trails in the MacLeod Park. | ![]() | |
| Located only a short drive from Greenstone, the Pijitawabik Palisades are world-renown as one of the top three ice climbing destinations in North America. In the winter, the 40 metre high Cascade Falls freezes up to 10 metres thick and becomes one of the most popular ice climbing sites in the region. | ![]() | ![]() |
| The Greenstone region includes three snow clubs that maintain and groom the snowmobile trails: The Kenogamisis Fish and Game Sno Club, the Longlac Sno Club, and the Nakina Sno Club. All three clubs participate in an annual Greenstone Loop Poker Rally which connects all three communities through the Greenstone Snowmobile Loop. Snowmobile races and drags are also organized, attracting to the region racers and enthusiasts from all across Ontario. | ![]() | |

| Ice sports are an important part of winter social activities in Greenstone. There are over a dozen different hockey leagues in the region that support boys, girls, women, men and old-timers. Many tournaments are held throughout the season, bringing together community spirit with high levels of competition. Ringette teams and tournaments are also organized, along with various curling bonspiels and leagues in four of Greenstone's communities. | ![]() | |
