Tourism in Greenstone

Great memories  are to be created within Greenstone for all visitors. Most of the tourists attractions are outdoor related, everything from endless snowmobile trails in the winter, to beautiful campgrounds in the summer. The Greenstone Snowmobile Loop Poker Run is quickly becoming very popular, with a circle route over 200km long, which encompasses three communities. Among the vasts amounts of terrain within Greenstone, there are many interesting hiking trails. One of the most admired trails is the Palisades hiking trail just outside Beardmore, with a spectacular waterfall at the end. Greenstone is known for its dynamic fishing and hunting. For example, Nakina holds an annual Bass Fishing Derby in August, which is sure to please the serious angler. If hunting or fishing isn't your thing, how about the wonderful 18 hole golf course located in Geraldton, designed by Stanley Thompson and Les Furber. There are also specific events that take place in the region of Greenstone, such as  the Geraldton Music Jamboree with live bands for an entire weekend, and the Longlac Summerfest filled with family oriented activities all weekend long. You can even meet Smokey the Bear during a CL415 (waterbomber) tour at the MNR Fire Base located just outside Geraldton!
