History/Historique

imageTombill Mine was also known as the Tom Johnson Claims and was originally staked in 1931 and again in 1932.  In 1933, the claims were transferred to Tom Johnson who, with a consortium of other associates including Percy Hopkins and Newmont Mines, Ltd., formed a company to develop the property.

 

The Tombill Mine was in production from 1938 to 1942 and again briefly in 1955 when clean-up operations were performed.  In total, 69,120 ounces of gold and 8,595 ounces of silver were recovered from this mine.   

 

La mine Tombill était aussi connue sous le nom des Concessions de Tom Johnson et a premièrement été revendiquée en 1931 et encore en 1932. En 1933, les concessions ont été transférées à Tom Johnson qui, avec un consortium de d’autres associés, incluant Percy Hopkins et Newmont Mines, Ltd., ont formé une compagnie pour développer la propriété.
