GEDC celebrated their 30th Anniversary during their annual Small Business week of October 15 – 19, 2018. This year GEDC offered the Lunch n’ Learn workshop series “How to Start a Business” during the week to assist and guide entrepreneurs. The series is broken down into five parts: Part I: Developing the Idea, Part II: Planning for Success, Part III / IV: Financing for Small Business, and Part V: Ready - Set - GO!
Due to the success and feedback of the series, we are developing a new “How to Start Business” Booklet; this will be the fourth addition in the Booklet Series. Other titles are: Starting a Not-for-profit Organization, Business Resource Guide, and Entrepreneurs’ Responsibilities. Copies are available at the GEDC office or online at www.gedc.ca
The week was concluded with a 30th Open house where the public could stop by and visit with staff, obtain a copy of our 30th booklet providing more information on recent projects and activities, enjoy a coffee and a 30th cupcake! In 30 Years we have disbursed $14,542,085 in business loans and provide 250-300 Counselling / Advisory Services annually. We are actively involved in community development via partnerships, regional organization support, sector projects and activities.
