MINERAL SECTOR GAP ANALYSIS

Greenstone is promoting economic development and job creation by helping local businesses provide services and supplies to Northern mining companies. Through the support of the Northern Communities Investment Readiness Program (NCIR) the Greenstone Economic Development Corporation and the Municipality of Greenstone will conduct a workshop later this month that identifies business opportunities with the mining sector.

The goal of the Northern Communities Investment Readiness Program (NCIR) is to assist Northern Ontario communities in becoming Investment Ready. And Investment Ready community provides up-to-date comprehensive information on the community and region quickly for distribution.

The goal of the Greenstone Region Mining Sector analysis is to determine which specific inbound investments are required to support Greenstones mining community.  The Greenstone region will primarily benefit from the mining sector analysis through an understanding of existing barriers to the mining sector and how these barriers can be filled through the attraction / expansion of key supporting industries / services and support companies.

On the evening of March 29th the findings of the analysis will be work shopped to the public at the French Club. The speakers will include Matthew Fischer, economic analyst, John Mason, OGS Regional Manager, Mike Dunlop, Go North Advisor, and Guylene Levesque, MNDM&F. All are welcome to attend, doors open at 6:15 with speakers beginning at 7 p. m. sharp.
