The Greenstone Economic Development Corporation (GEDC) fosters and encourages the start-up and operation of successful enterprise in all economic sectors within the Greenstone Region. We are a community-based, non-profit organization administered by a volunteer board of directors representative of the communities within the Greenstone Service area.

Festivals & Attractions

The Greenstone region's events calendar is filled year-long with celebrations and festivities that attract and entertain families and visitors alike.

Surrounded by stunning scenery and nature, summertime festivals in Greenstone are filled with community spirit and pride.  The Geraldton Music Jamboree is held during the August long weekend and attracts thousands of music enthusiasts from all over the province.  Other events include the Geraldton Chamber of Commerce Tradeshow held in April, the Canada Day Parade, the Longlac Summerfest held in July and the Nakina Corn Fest held in August.

The winter season is filled with events to keep the community's spirit warm and entusiastic.  Some of these include halloween parties, Santa Claus parades, Festival of Lights, and many more.  The Winter Carnivals and hockey tournaments are organized through multiple communities in the months of January, February and March.
